Those we remember at Addi Road, on our Honour Roll for Peace, range from a former prime minister to anti-conscription activists, Vietnam War veterans to musicians and poets, Indigenous Elders and human rights campaigners.

“Good job,” a parent says, giving people the thumbs up at a pop-up vaccination clinic happening at Addi Road this morning.

"People like to see kind stories in the media. The kind stories matter. The kindness matters. But people are being forced to ask why we need to be kind. And that is what we need to think about and respond to most of all. Why is it that we need to be kind?"

It's History Week in New South Wales, and the theme for this year is 'From the Ground Up'. It's a theme that means a lot to us at Addi Road, a local heritage site on Gadigal land whose history is entwined with many significant national stories, from the experiences of soldiers in World War One, to the birth of a vibrant multicultural society in the 1970s.
