The Australian Council of Social Service have come down to Addi Road today to set up a table outside our Food Pantry and encourage people to send a few Christmas cards to our politicians. It may not be a card they like to get. But every one them is certainly heartfelt, handwritten and true to the experience of everyday Australians dealing with unemployment, poverty and life on the proverbial breadline.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian visited Addi Road on Friday 6th November 2020 to see our food security and food rescue work in action.
“There’s a lot of things going on in Australia. But we’re mostly doing it in silos and not doing it together. I set up YARN to end the silos and bring Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander and non-indigenous people together in a culturally safe place.”
Mayor Darcy Byrne’s announcement this morning that the Inner West Council “has decided to convert the Summer Hill depot into a reuse centre for non-government-organisations like Reverse Garbage and The Bower Reuse & Repair Centre” is welcome news for us all.

Ties between Bill Crews’ Exodus Foundation and Addi Road are being strengthened as the homeless reach out for help.

After seeing our Emergency Food Preparedness and Response Centre, Anthony Albanese was moved to call Addi Road “the heart and soul of the electorate.”
