Wednesday Night Lights

Each Wednesday evening, our community comes together under the lights at Addi Road for something truly special.

What's on this month at WNL

Every Wednesday from 6:00pm – 8:00pm | 142 Addison Road, Marrickville
Addi Road Food Pantry opens every Wednesday from 12 – 7 pm

Each Wednesday evening, our community comes together under the lights at Addi Road for something truly special. Wednesday Night Lights is not just a meal service… it’s a warm, welcoming space where hundreds of people gather to connect, recharge, and access vital support with dignity and ease.
No IDs, no Medicare cards, no judgment. Just people helping people.

We’re joined by an incredible group of service providers and volunteers who make this night what it is:

StreetSide Medics offer free medical check-ups with no need for a Medicare card or identification.

Orange Sky provides free laundry services and the simple comfort of a conversation while you wait.

4Voices offers essential support to women and girls facing hardship, combating digital isolation, material and emotional care.

Reunion shares quality free clothing for anyone in need.

Joy of Giving distributes free toys and books, helping bring joy to kids and families alike.

Marrickville Legal Centre visits fortnightly to provide legal advice and advocacy.

Sydney Multicultural Community Services join us weekly, offering a range of support to CALD community members.

The Feel Good Project Foundation also comes monthly, offering free haircuts and beauty services that make a big difference to self-esteem.

Little Sprouts, Big Changes is our weekly kids’ program – a place to play, learn, and feel safe and seen.

Plus more! (Please check our monthly roster down below to see who is coming each week)

And of course, each night we share a freshly cooked hot meal made onsite by our beloved house chef Heather, with delicious desserts generously provided by Grumpy Donuts and Bob & Pete’s.

Wednesday Night Lights is a celebration of community resilience and compassion. Whether you’re here for a meal, a medical check-up, clean clothes, legal advice, or just a smile – everyone is welcome. Come as you are. Leave with a full heart.

Yiana Roumeliotis, Community Engagement Officer

“Offering a place where people can come get medical help, legal assistance, human contact, hot meals, it has been exciting to see that grow and see it working. We’re also helping doubly – because we’re feeding people who need it with nutritious meals and because the food we cook with is rescued, so that connects it to our sustainable philosophies, fighting against waste and stopping food going into landfill where it then causes greenhouse gases.

“The social factor is great too. Using long tables where people can sit down. It’s like a big family dinner. We get to know everyone coming along and they get to know one another too. We learn about them on a human level – their names, their stories, their lives, what they think about things… and we are able to guide them further to where they might get help for other specific problems. It’s fun to be in people’s company and be helpful like that, talking around a fire or even having a dance or singalong or joke while people like The Fijian Community are here playing music for everyone.

“I’ve been to a lot of things like this at other places that offer hot meals or a see a doctor or lawyer kind of thing. It all helps. But the energy at Wednesday Night Lights is quite different – it’s just human beings coming together. I have a great sense of pride in that, and I see my own values coming to life. Working at Addi Road I get to walk the talk. With all of us coming together.”
