Public Schools Art Festival
At Addi Road Community Organisation we are committed to supporting public education and creativity in the Inner West and across Sydney. That’s why we initiated the Public Schools Arts Festival in 2015.
This annual event gives budding artists in public schools to showcase their collaborative artwork – sculpture, drawing, video, painting, drama and music – in the professional exhibition and performance spaces we offer at Addi Road.
The Festival is possible because of the commitment of our partners: Inner West Teachers’ Association, Drawn To Seeing, music and art teachers and the students – who create fantastic artworks and performances each year.
Public Schools Arts Festival 2022
The 7th annual Public Schools Arts Festival was a huge success! We had a fantastic line up of primary and high school bands and artists. Over 200 people attended the festival.
The Festival exhibition in our StirrUp Gallery showcased an array of collaborative artworks from both public primary and high schools.
Opening night
A Welcome to Country was delivered by Warren Roberts from YARN. Sam Mostyn, Rosanna Barbero (Addi Road CEO) and Kim Salisbury (Inner City Teachers’ Association president) made official speeches, and Burwood Girls’ High School Choir performed the National Anthem in Eora Language.
