And please read our thank you letter below to the Inner West Courier, sent from Rosanna Barbero, our CEO at Addison Road Community Centre Organisation. It will give you an even deeper sense of the work we are doing and how it affects our community:

Dear Cathy, Laura and John,

First of all I would like to convey my appreciation for the wonderful coverage you have provided us. Secondly, I want you to know the impact of the article in just one day after publication. Today we had 126 people that visited the Pantry most of which quoted the article and said they wished they knew about this earlier as they have been struggling and this will really help them to get through the week.

One woman said her husband has been out of work for 4 months and they have been borrowing money and getting into debt to just get through from one week to the next with 3 children. When she saw the paper she set out the next day and arrived 30 minutes before we opened.

She was crying as she thanked us for the service. It was her story that compelled me to write to you so you can see the impact of what you did by publishing this story. There are many more stories that echo the same suffering, hardship and humiliation.

Thank you from all of us.

Regards,

Rosanna
