Staff from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital are here at Addi Road in Marrickville today, Tuesday 30th April, until 4pm.

They’re part of a Sydney Local Health District push to provide free flu vaccine shots for the community this winter.

It’s a rainy old cold day, the best possible promotion to take advantage of the free offer and heath support.

Tables are set up immediately outside our Addi Road Food Pantry… the flu vaccinations are steadily underway as casual shoppers and other visitors to the community centre take advantage of the offer.

The idea is to help the most vulnerable out there by bringing this medical service to street-level in partnership with organisations like Addi Road.

For many it’s just a happy surprise in-between shopping and accessing other services here, a convenient and easy 15 minutes spent getting your flu shot and chatting everyone.

As the SLHD’s Paul Clenaghan says, “It’s all about protecting yourself – and your family and friends too.”
