Addi Road is celebrating History Week and NAIDOC Week together this year, through a collaboration with our on-site partners Settlement Services International and Ignite.
The Tribal Bloodline Connections exhibition at our Addi Road StirrUp Gallery addresses this year’s History Week theme of ‘Hands-On History’ with Gomeroi artists Adam Spencer and Nick Levy and Thunghutti artist Tyler Stackman. Showcasing artworks on canvas, artefacts, and wood carvings that reference the history of the New England Tablelands in NSW, the exhibition explores the theme of ‘bloodlines’ connecting different tribal groups through visual symbols and motifs.
In line with this year’s NAIDOC Week theme to ‘Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!’ Addi Road is committed to promoting and supporting Indigenous culture and visual arts, by dedicating our StirrUp Gallery space for use by Indigenous artists annually through the Addi Road NAIDOC Week Artspace Award.
Come and meet Adam Spencer, Nick Levy and Tyler Stackman and learn about their arts practices. Look out for details about artist talks to be held during the exhibition.
