The Hollow Tree

$20.00

By Mark Mordue, Robyn Chiles and Inner West school children

In a busy noisy part of the city, between the aeroplanes and a car park, stands a big dead Sydney blue gum. But take a moment to observe, or even peek inside, and you’ll find that this hollow tree is full of life!

As a part of our urban habitats program, Addi Road invited students from local schools to create artwork inspired by our urban habitat tree. Volunteers and our staff collated the students’ drawings to create this beautiful book about the tree, the creatures that make it their home and how to improve habitat for native wildlife in our busy cities.

Written by Addi Road Writers’ Festival artistic director, Mark Mordue.

Illustrated by artist Robyn Chiles who Addi Road provides a studio space to in our urban oasis here at our Community Centre.

All proceeds go to Addi Road’s environmental programs. Thanks to Inner West Council, Taverner’s Hill Infant’s School, Wilkins Public School, Marrickville West Primary School, Ferncourt Public School, and Dulwich Hill Public School.
