A post-disciplinary visual artist predominantly in installation and lens-based art forms. Exploring ephemeral interventions and performance as expressive mediums.
My process starts from an academic idea, based on philosophy, feminism, something that’s preoccupying me at the time. And I go on to do in depth research about. The research creates an idea for an object, or image. It then flows backwards and forwards between writing and researching and creating that final work that started in my minds eye. Each has an impact on the other. The academic work has a tendency to be complicated and confused with threads and connections. The art work is simpler and calmer, there is time and space to pick out each element, hold it and consider it, and then look again.
