Our Board Members

The Addison Road Community Organisation, or Addi Road as it is known, is a registered charity and leading multicultural community centre based in the Sydney suburb of Marrickville which has been responding to community needs since 1976.

Pauline Lockie

Pauline Lockie is a community advocate and former Independent councillor with the Inner West Council, where she served from 2017 and was later elected Deputy Mayor. She first became widely known through her leadership in community opposition to the WestConnex motorway project, helping mobilise residents and advocate for environmental protection and community rights. Throughout her public service, Pauline Lockie has championed social justice initiatives, including anti-racism campaigns, gender equity strategies, and support for LGBTIQA+ communities, reflecting her longstanding commitment to grassroots advocacy and inclusive community leadership.

Tu Le

Tu is a community worker, advocate and organiser who has worked across both corporate and non-for-profit sectors. She currently works in the community legal sector assisting victim-survivors of domestic and family violence and coordinating capacity-building and community legal education programs. Tu has experience working with youth, migrants and refugee communities and co-founded a youth-led organisation based in South-West Sydney. She is an advocate for greater diversity and justice in Australian society and politics. Tu joined the Board in 2022.

Juliana Jamaluddin

Juliana Jamaluddin is a medical practitioner, working as an Emergency Medicine Registrar in the Sydney Local Health District. She has previously worked as a Medical Registrar in NSW, Queensland, the ACT and Tasmania and moved into Emergency Medicine during COVID. She also volunteers as a youth mentor and is an anti-racism and human rights advocate outside of her work in medicine and was part of the grassroots campaign of RacismNotWelcome. Juliana joined the Board in 2020.

Andrew Naylor

Andrew Naylor is a barrister specialising in common law, personal injury, class actions, inquiries and inquests, and human rights law. Called to the Bar in 2002, he has appeared in complex national litigation, including major medical device and COVID-19 class actions, and regularly acts in matters involving discrimination, sexual harassment, and intentional torts. He has also served as Counsel Assisting to major public inquiries, including the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, and previously worked with key legal oversight bodies including the NSW Police Integrity Commission and the Australian Law Reform Commission.

Ali Faraj

Ali Faraj shines as a prominent young Muslim leader in Australia, commanding respect for his impactful work. As the Executive General Manager Community of the AFL club, GWS Giants, he fosters unity and mental well-being in Western Sydney through diverse initiatives, particularly among youth. Recognised as 'Case Worker of the Year' by the Migration Council Australia in 2015, Ali's collaborations with schools and government bodies emphasize social cohesion. During the COVID-19 lockdown, his leadership emerged through the GWS Giant Hand initiative, aiding over 15,000 vulnerable families and supporting their mental well-being. Ali's commitment to suicide prevention and mental health is evident through his role as the Board Chairman of Educaid Australia, a leading Mental Health not-for-profit organisation working with culturally and linguistically diverse and faith communities across Australia. He is an accredited Suicide Intervention trainer and presents often at local and national conferences, including recently being a keynote speaker at the Suicide Prevention Forum in Tasmania. His presence extends to being an adolescent expert featured on national TV on the ABC show 'Old People's Home For Teenagers', embodying his dedication to combating loneliness and depression across generations.

Melanie Morrison

Ms Melanie Morrison is an experienced not-for-profit leader and the Director of the newly independent Sydney Peace Foundation. She's a human rights advocate with a Master’s Degree from the University of Sydney. She has led communications and research programs across the corporate, non-profit, government and university sectors. She is an award-winning journalist, researcher and producer for her work in Australia and overseas. Melanie joined the Board in 2023.

Sanushka Mudaliar

Sanushka has over 20 years of experience working in Australia, China, Cambodia, Singapore and the U.K, on policy advocacy, research and global program management. She has worked for international human rights NGOs, think tanks and academic institutions, and as a specialist consultant on labour migration and human rights advising United Nations bodies (ILO, IOM, UN Women) and regional intergovernmental bodies (African Union, ASEAN). Sanushka currently manages a global research initiative that supports humanitarian assistance and protection activities serving migrants and communities.  Sanushka joined our Board in 2022.
