Our Team
At Addi Road, community always comes first. From the many people who visit our food pantries in Marrickville and Camperdown, to the hundreds of visitors to the community markets every Sunday, Addi Road is a place where people come together, feel a sense of belonging, and are made welcome.
Olivia Wilson-Zargenis, Programs Coordinator:
“We never presume what the community needs, we listen and pivot and provide genuine programs and give spaces, literally at times, for the community to express, to hang out or just to shop for food. This is all comes with the site itself as a special place to be in: people are just blown away by the feeling of it, the sense of belonging they get when they arrive. Wednesday Night Lights encapsulates that the most for me, the way people come for services from our partners such as Street Side Medics or advice from Marrickville Legal Centre, or just to enjoy a free hot meal at a long table and to be with other people for a few hours. It’s a way of saying you are not alone, which is a bigger and bigger issue these days and maybe one of the most important things we need to fight against.”
Addi Road Ambassador, Craig Foster
Human rights activist and sporting legend, Craig Foster has worked with us since COVID times when he helped mobilise and inspire others to help provide emergency relief to people falling through the cracks. Today he continues to work tirelessly and passionately for human rights and social justice, including through our Racism Not Welcome advocacy and as a leading voice promoting our Hampers of Hope campaign. Craig has a long list of achievements, including 29 caps as a Socceroo, and we are incredibly blessed to have him as our Ambassador.
Rosanna Barbero
Addi Road CEO
Rosanna is used to working in poor communities around the globe, but believes being poor in a rich country is one of the most stigmatising. Through Addi Road, she hopes to bring a sense of power to those who feel powerless and to establish a strong sense of community.
