The Addison Road Community Organisation, or Addi Road as it is known, is a registered charity and leading multicultural community centre based in the Sydney suburb of Marrickville which has been responding to community needs since 1976.

With two busy food pantries offering a wide variety of low-cost groceries and free fruit, vegetables and bread to help feed some of Sydney’s most vulnerable people and ease the pain of the cost-of-living crisis, Addi Road is a grass roots, charity with a very big heart. Most of what we do is not funded by government and relies heavily on community support.

As lease-holder of the 9-acre Crown Land site, the Addison Road Community Organisation is responsible for the care and maintenance of the extensive grounds and historic buildings contained within. Given many of the 20-plus buildings on-site were built in the early 1900s, maintaining the site is a costly and sometimes stressful undertaking, but nevertheless it is a role we take very seriously.

From providing low-cost rent to artists, individuals, and NGOs, to hosting exhibitions in our professional art gallery and festivals celebrating art and music in our busy community hall, Addi Road is a place that celebrates community and creativity in all its forms.

“Together, we are shaping a future where every member of our community can thrive, and where the collective strength of civil society can rise to meet the challenges ahead”.
