Event Details

A special opportunity to sit with the founder of YARN Australia to have a chat and explore the power of storytelling for wellbeing.
Join the founder of YARN Australia Warren Roberts to learn how to become an intentional storyteller.
YARN’s Storyteller Workshops have been designed to empower participants with the skills and confidence to become ‘intentional storytellers’. With Warren’s guidance you will be provided with a personalised experience; developing skills and understanding for how to build trust, connection, understanding and respect with all peoples. As Warren says:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are storytellers. Our Ancestors have shared their knowledge across generations, passing down a powerful culture of storytelling. We see it as our great responsibility to continue. I believe every Australian should aspire to become a storyteller and continue this great tradition.

YARN Australia is a Social Enterprise focused on creating relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and non-Indigenous Australians by intentionally connecting with individuals, communities, schools and organisations across the country.
This is one of a series of Covid-safe activities and workshops offered by Addison Road Community Organisation in the first week of the NSW Spring school holidays (28th September – 2nd October). It is part of our Community.a.Fair program, designed to connect people with opportunities, services, recreation, support and solidarity.
PARTICIPANTS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MUST BRING A COMPLETED PERMISSION FORM FROM A PARENT OR GUARDIAN (download the form here) OR BE ACCOMPANIED BY A SUPPORT WORKER.
