‘Take Heart, Deadly Heart’ – film screening & fundraiser

Take Heart, Deadly Heart is a powerful and provocative documentary that tells the interlinked stories of the First Nations children in remote communities grappling with Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) – a largely invisible, but preventable, disease.

With our friends Hayley & Brett Kirk, Addi Road is hosting the film screening to raise funds and awareness of the devastating impact RHD has on our First Nations children. Brett & Hayley first became aware of RHD when their 10 year old son Skout was admitted to hospital.

The film is a call to our government to listen and fund the community-led services that will prevent RHD, especially for our First Nations children. Take Heart, Deadly Heart is the sequel to the 2016 documentary Take Heart: The Quest to Rid Australasia of Rheumatic Heart Disease which won nine awards, including gold medal for Best Featurette at the Global Independent Film Awards.
